I, me. I have worn the saree as a matter of choice. Earlier maybe because it hid my bulges well but later on it was to flaunt my love for the Indian textile Quotient. My love for the textures, colours , designs is on every part of me. I have never ever followed trends in colours, blouse designs or even fabrics. I was comfortable in my own skin and six yards. It never mattered what others thought and I wore what made me happy. I have worn the saree to pubs, discos, cocktails and weddings.

Notwithstanding all the platitudes about fashion and style, in my dictionary, fashion is what is out there and style is our individual person… Our personality which includes not only the outward appearance but character, intelligence, strength. The twinkle in your eye, your feelings, your connect with people.  My smile. On hindsight my smile is what I have worn with aplomb. Always.

Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say and not giving a dam. As Ralph Lauren has said style is what comes from within you.

My style icons, ones I love are not only the ones who wear the saree but have made a difference in the world!
